Made-Up Love Song #43 by Guillemots

Song Title: Made-Up Love Song #43
Artist: Guillemots
Album: Through the Windowpane
Year: 2006

Why I never skip it?
This is one of my all-time favourite love songs. It would have been a contender for the 1st dance at our wedding, had anyone apart from me and my wife actually heard of it. I much prefer the acoustic version on an early Dermot O’Leary Saturday Sessions compilation as there are slightly fewer weird noises going on in the background, but the beauty of the lyrics still manage to shine through.

Favourite Lyric:
I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do
And the symmetry in your northern grin

Lyrics:
I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do
Now there’s poetry in an empty Coke can
I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do
Now there’s majesty in a burnt out caravan

You got me off the paper round
Just sprang out of the air
The best things come from nowhere
I love you, I don’t think you care

I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do
And the symmetry in your northern grin
I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do
I can see myself in the refill litter bin

You got me off the sofa
Just sprang out of the air
The best things come from nowhere
I can’t believe you care, care
